In this edition of Owl's Progress Notes, you can now record audio within Owl and have them transcribed by Smart Notes along with other feature enhancements.
Smart Notes Feature Enhancements
Smart Notes for In-Person Sessions
You can now create Smart Notes for in‑person sessions or dictate your own notes directly in Owl right after a session.

To begin, select a session from the Calendar and then select Start Recording.

You will then see a prompt asking for permission to use your microphone. Select Allow and the recording will begin.

You can select Pause at any time to suspend the recording and Resume to continue.

Select End Session when you are finished. You will need to confirm your decision by selecting End Session again to end the recording.

Once you are finished the file will automatically upload to the server as indicated in the top right. Please allow 20 to 30 minutes for Smart Notes to analyze the transcript.

Quantitative Data added to Smart Notes
Quantitative data has been added to Smart Notes. When discussing numbers of things such as steps to exercises, these will be displayed in the transcript of a session. For example: If you are participating in a 4-7-8 breathing exercise with a client and you count the seconds along side the client, that count and the steps will appear as a part of the transcript.
Other Enhancements to Smart Notes
The term patient has been changed to client when using Smart Notes. Smart Notes specific templates are now easier differentiate from regular notes templates.
