Circle of Care
For those clients who you see in session but bill someone else, you will use Owl's Default Bill-To tool. This allows you to specify an alternate contact or a linked account as the Bill-To, or the person responsible for payment, on invoices and receipts. You can do this by going to a client's profile from the Client view, selecting Contact & Clinical, then Circle of Care, and selecting a contact and selecting Edit. Under Billing & Reminders you can set this contact as the Default Bill-To.

Once you have marked them, their name and address will be included on all future invoices and receipts, and they will be titled the "Bill-To" on the receipts.
Additionally, if the client is configured for Autopay, the default payment method on file for the Bill-To client will be charged automatically for their session that they are the payer for, and financial documents will be sent to them if auto-send is enabled.

This is especially handy for parents or partners. You can only have one Default Bill-To per client.
3rd Party payers
If a client's sessions are being billed to a 3rd party payer, you can configure the payer under Settings > Payment Preferences > Edit payers

Once you have inputted the payers and saved the Settings, you can associate a payer with a client by navigating to the client profile > Contact & Clinical > Account Details and selecting the desired payer from the dropdown

If the client already has a Circle of Care contact that is listed as the Default Bill-to when the 3rd Party payer is configured, the Default Bill-to label will be removed, as the 3rd Party payer takes priority. In order to re-enable the Bill-to, you will need to remove the 3rd Party payer.
