Owl Practice recognizes that many individuals have preferred names other than their legal names.
Use the "Preferred Names" tool under Contact & Clinical to replace your clients' legal names with their preferred names.
Start by heading to the Client Profile:
- Click on Contact & Clinical > Contact Details.
- Click Edit.
- Type in the client's Preferred Name.
- Directly below, click the checkbox labeled "Use Preferred Names on Non-Financial Documents."
- Click Save.
Once you update this, preferred names will be used for:
- Reminders
- Confirmations
- Calendar sessions
- Workflow
- Linked accounts
- Client list
- Online portal
- Intake and consent forms
- Search
- Recently viewed clients
Preferred names will not be used on any financial documents, including:
- Invoices and receipts
- Account summaries
- Data exports
- Session notes
- Any export notes
- Refunds
